Communications Specialist for the Office of Student Success
Zoe Lance
Zoe manages student communication related to academic advising and support, including the university’s AI text messaging robot Billy Chat. She also supports Provost’s Office executive communications and internal faculty and staff communication within the academic advising community. She coordinated student communication around CPP’s semester conversion in 2018. Zoe is a two-time CSU alumna, earning her master’s degree in communication from Cal State Fullerton (where her thesis focused on CSUF’s student communication response to the COVID-19 pandemic) and bachelor’s degree in English from Cal Poly Pomona.

Harrington holds a doctorate from the University of Oregon in organizational communication. With a natural gift for quickly assessing complex problems, Harrington consults with clients to develop future-ready strategies to ensure resilience and results. His 30 years of experience make Dr. Harrington one of the premier consultants to financial institutions in the USA. He is a sought-after strategic planner, executive coach and guide for organizational change management and media messaging. He is the co-author of Slammed: Succeeding in a World of Too Busy and Evolutionaries: Transformational Leadership - The Missing Link in Your Organizational Chart.

Public Information Officer
Alan Reyes
Alan Reyes is a public relations and communications professional who serves as a Public Information Officer for the city of Anaheim. Throughout his career, he has played a key role in public sector communications, including serving as the Public Information Officer at the Hemet Police Department during heightened national discourse following George Floyd's death. Beyond PR, Alan specializes in multimedia storytelling as a photographer, graphic designer, and videographer. In 2021, he coauthored Louder Than Words, the first graphic design textbook for PR students, with Professor Lorena Turner of Cal Poly Pomona. A 2019 Cal Poly Pomona graduate in Communication (PR), Alan joined USC Annenberg’s M.S. in Digital Media Management program in 2023. He also freelances as a photographer, videographer, and FAA-licensed drone pilot.

Nikky martinez
Nikky Martinez holds a Bachelor’s in Marketing Management from Cal Poly Pomona and a Master’s in Communication Marketing from the University of Denver. As an Associate Influencer Marketing Manager, she leads strategy, creator partnerships, and branded content. Her past work includes roles at Bubble Skincare, Movers+Shakers, and Agency Guacamole, contributing to campaigns for brands like e.l.f. Cosmetics, Maybelline, and Redken.

Karina Mendez
Karina Mendez is the Marketing Manager at Artistic Entertainment Services (AES), where she leads social media strategy, content creation, and campaigns for clients in the entertainment, beauty, and fashion industries. With over two years of experience managing AES’s social media platforms, Karina played a pivotal role in building the company’s presence from scratch, including growing their TikTok account and overseeing major campaigns for annual, high-profile events such as the Rose Parade and Vanity Fair Oscar Party. A proud graduate of Cal Poly Pomona, Karina earned her degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing. During her time at CPP, she worked in the Strategic Communications Department on the social media team, gaining valuable experience in digital marketing. Driven by a passion for innovation, Karina reimagines brand storytelling by leveraging cutting-edge digital strategies that redefine how brands connect with audiences. With a focus on data-driven creativity and staying inspired by the fast-paced evolution of the entertainment and fashion industries, she works to elevate brands by shaping unique, engaging experiences.

Kim Pluth Ryan has over ten years of experience in Public Affairs, Government, and the Arts. She is currently the Communications Manager for the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, where she develops strategic campaigns to promote equity and cultural engagement. She has worked with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and has held key roles in the mobility technology sector, including managing city partnerships and public relations. Kim graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a B.S. in Communication and has her M.S. in Leadership and Management from the University of La Verne.
